  • Initiated in 2009, the Kentucky Crossroads Regional Economic Development Coalition is an alliance of economic development organizations in 11 Central Kentucky counties, including Anderson, Boyle, Casey, Garrard, Lincoln, Marion, Mercer, Pulaski, Rockcastle, Taylor, and Washington Counties.

    Kentucky Crossroads is a region of vibrant, progressive communities in Kentucky’s heartland that are strategically positioned between the Louisville and Lexington metropolitan areas with business development assets and advantages easily accessible via four major highway corridors (KY 55, US 127, US 150, and US 27) to the Martha Layne Collins/Bluegrass Parkway, Louie B. Nunn/Cumberland Parkway, and Interstates 64, 65, and 75.

    The coalition partners of Kentucky Crossroads emphasize “collaborative regionalism” as their guiding principle to promote three objectives:

    • Market cooperatively the region to site selection consultants and corporate decision-makers;
    • Share openly information and best practices to improve the performance of local economic development organizations and their executives; and
    • Advocate aggressively for region-wide public policy issues and solutions that enhance the overall business climate for the participating counties.
    Kentucky Crossroads targets low-cost, high-return marketing efforts by pooling our resources and tapping our combined contacts to develop inbound events or outbound missions to trade shows and/or to schedule in-office visits with consultants or corporate staff.  We market the region first and all of the sites/buildings available within it.  After that point, each county responds to specific interest in their product.
